SnapMeasure - Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 23, 2026

Overview

SnapMeasure is a photo annotation tool for field inspectors. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

Photos: When you use the AI Command feature, your photo is sent to our server for processing by Google Gemini (for annotation placement) and OpenAI Whisper (for voice transcription). Photos are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers after processing is complete.

Voice recordings: If you use the voice command feature, your audio recording is sent to our server for transcription. Audio is processed in real-time and is not stored after transcription.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Third-Party Services

When you use AI features, data is processed through:

These services process data according to their own privacy policies. No data is sent to these services unless you explicitly use the AI Command feature.

Local Data

All annotations you create are stored locally on your device only. They are not synced to any server or cloud service. When you close the app, unsaved work is lost — exported images are saved to your device's photo library or shared via the system share sheet.

Camera and Microphone

SnapMeasure requests access to your camera (to take photos of equipment), photo library (to load and save images), and microphone (for voice commands). These permissions are only used for their stated purpose and can be revoked at any time in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

SnapMeasure is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
